Even when the weather changes, it is important for seniors to make sure they are getting enough physical activity. This may be difficult, especially for seniors who take walks outside during the warmer weather. The Mississauga Senior Centre offers an array of activities that can help to keep seniors active during the fall and winter months. Below is a list of some of the services offered at the centre and how they can benefit seniors.
1. The Senior Centre offers different exercise classes. These classes are specifically designed to improve and maintain senior health.
2. Seniors can enroll in Yoga, Nordic Walking, Fit Fellows, Functional Fitness and OsteoFit, to name a few.
3. The center also offers different programs that can help seniors exercise at home. These programs will teach seniors the proper way to exercise, reducing the chance of injury and increasing at-home activity.
4. There are many other seniors who are involved in these different groups and classes. Individuals are encouraged to attend the senior center. This is a great way to meet up with other seniors with similar interests. This can be a new way for seniors to make friends and possible create their own at-home exercise program.
